Tanger is Selling Its Popular 25% OFF Pink Cards to Help Raise Money to Fight Breast Cancer

GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Each year, millions of shoppers across America look to Tanger Outlet Centers to receive value on all of the brand name fashions and accessories they purchase for their family. This fall, Tanger is adding even more value to its customers' visits by giving them the chance to also fight breast cancer in their community.

September 15 - October 25, 2010, the 17th Annual TangerStyle of Pink Campaign will take place at 32 Tanger Outlet Centers in 22 states. As part of Tanger's fundraising, shoppers will be able to purchase Tanger Pink Cards for a $1.00 donation each. The Pink Card provides Tanger customers with a 25% discount on a single item at participating stores located at Tanger Outlet Centers. Pink Cards can be purchased at all Tanger Shopper Services Centers or online at www.tangeroutlet.com.

"Tanger is proud to join with our retail partners and our customers in a team effort to put an end to this terrible disease of breast cancer," said Steven B. Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. "Our goal is to help raise and donate the funds necessary for breast cancer research so that a cure and prevention can be found."

Money raised by Tanger through its sale of TangerStyle of Pink Campaign Cards is donated locally through the Stanley K. Tanger Breast Cancer Fund to nearly 20 different breast cancer organizations across the country. Since 1994, Tanger Outlet Centers has contributed more than $7.5 million to this important cause.

      NC (Tanger's Corporate Office).
  --  Pink Memory Ribbon Sale in Barstow, CA; Lincoln City, OR; Tilton, NH;

Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States. More than 207,000 women will hear the words 'You have breast cancer' this year. But there are steps people can take to reduce their risk. The American Cancer Society recommends that all women age 40 and older get a mammogram and clinical breast exam by their health care professional every year. Other actions people can take to reduce their risk include maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active on a regular basis, and limiting alcohol intake (no more than one drink per day for women, two drinks per day for men).
