Tanger Outlets To Feature 75 Brand Name, Upscale Outlet Stores
GREENSBORO, N.C., July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc., headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, broke ground today on the new Tanger Outlet Center of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Situated along interstate 79 in South Strabane Township in Washington County (approximately 30 miles south of Pittsburgh) the 308,000 square foot Tanger Outlet Center will feature 75 brand name and designer outlet stores and restaurants and will be a focal point of South Strabane Township's Victory Centre Development. Stanley K. Tanger - Founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. and Steven B. Tanger - President and Chief Operating Officer were joined for the official ground breaking ceremony by several state and local officials.

The architecture of the Tanger center captures the charm of Pennsylvania's historic, colonial-era carriage houses. Once inside, abundant, English Garden - style flowers and greenery and carefully placed park benches will evoke a sense of walking along an Old World promenade. The $75 million Tanger Outlet Center development will have a very positive impact on the local and state economies as it helps create an estimated 250 construction jobs during the building period and then more than 800 quality, retail management positions upon opening. The center's estimated 4.5 million annual shoppers will also provide a significant economic benefit to area hotels, restaurants and many service businesses. Additionally, the center will generate estimated local property tax revenue of $1.2 million each year.

As part of Tanger's national commitment to fighting breast cancer, Stanley K. Tanger and Steven B. Tanger presented a $1,500 check to Nancy Verderber of the Washington County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Through the Stanley K. Tanger Breast Cancer Fund, Tanger has donated more than $4.5 million to fight breast cancer since 1994. A $1,500 donation was also presented to Trinity High School of Washington County, PA as part of the national TangerBucks for Schools campaign.
